Here is a watercolor art project for this Fall season. You’ll need watercolors, wet media paper (not copy paper), a black and white crayon and some fallen leaves.

Step by step lesson on how to draw a landscape with cactus, inspired by Artist Diego Rivera. He is a Mexican artist we are learning about for Hispanic Heritage Month. For this project, you will need crayons or oil pastels, a piece of paper, a pencil, watercolors, and a paint brush.

Inspired by Hawaii, this art lesson will show you how to draw a sea turtle step-by-step. We will then add color in a creative way using foil and washable markers. After the sea turtle lesson is a hibiscus flower lesson. The month of May, we celebrate Asian Pacific Islander Heritage month. Sea turtles and hibiscus flowers remind me of Hawaii.

This is an art lesson geared for younger kiddos to be able to give someone they love a bouquet of flowers. Materials for this project is: Paper, Sharpie or a black crayon, Foil, Washable Markers, and a spray bottle.

This art lesson will show two versions of a dragon eye. Depending on what supplies you have or what you’re interested in practicing, here are two dragon eye drawings. First is crayon and watercolor. Second is pencil with lots of shading and value.

This project is inspired by Gladys Mae West and her work toward developing GPS, Global Positioning System. She is a Mathematician known for using satellite data to map out the Earth's surface. Earlier this month, we imagined what space looks like as an astronaut. How do astronauts know where to land when they come back to Earth? How do you know where you are going when going somewhere new? GPS: Global Positioning System uses satellites to locate your position and helps maps direct you where you need to go. We owe this technology to Gladys Mae West, who is both an African American and a woman. We are still celebrating Women's History Month in March. So lets be inspired by this amazing woman as we create a GPS inspired artwork.

We will be inspired by the color field paintings by Alma Woodsey Thomas as we create in an altered book. Follow along with what materials you have: markers, or paint.
